TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WWSB) – Attorneys representing the family of Tiru Chabba, the 45-year-old father of two killed in last year’s mass shooting at Florida State University (FSU), will hold a news conference Monday, May 11, at 9 a.m. to announce a lawsuit related to the shooting.

On April 17, 2025, Chabba was on the FSU campus working as an employee of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality when 20-year-old FSU student Phoenix Ikner allegedly opened fire shortly before noon, killing Chabba and another man and wounding six others, according to authorities.
