Central Florida has chance for strong storms to develop in afternoon – Orlando Sentinel

There is a 40 percent chance for rain and thunderstorms beginning at 2 p.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

Potential hazards include winds at 60+ mph, hail and a brief tornado.

Chances decline to 30 percent in the evening before 8 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low-to-mid 90s across the region.

Rain chances are at 40 percent for greater Orlando, including Daytona Beach, and 60 percent along the coast according to NWS Melbourne.
