FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — St. Lucie County Tax Collector offices will close early Monday as severe weather is expected to move through the area later in the day.
Tax Collector Chris Craft announced offices will shut down at 2 p.m. in anticipation of strong to severe storms forecast between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Forecasters warn the system could bring damaging winds exceeding 60 mph, hail up to an inch in size and the potential for tornadoes.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety of our customers and team members is our top priority,” Craft said.
Officials said many services will remain available online at tcslc.com during the closure.
Offices are expected to reopen Tuesday at 9 a.m. for normal business hours.
