TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Best Friends Bistro is more than a meal; it’s about purpose.
According to Elder Care Services of the Big Bend, the event is inspired by Japanese cafes that employ seniors with dementia as wait staff.
The “Restaurants of Mistaken Orders” provide a place for them to remain active in the community, according to Elder Care Services.
The event is intended to allow seniors with dementia to reconnect with the community and find joy.
Nicole Ballas, Chief Operating Officer, and Jocelyne Fliger, Chief Executive Officer of Elder Care Services, joined our Ava Van Valen in the studio on Monday to discuss the luncheon.

The event is scheduled for May 14 at 11 a.m. at the Goodwood Museum Carriage House. Tickets are $50 and $90 for two tickets with the Best Friends discount.
