MIDWAY, Fla. (WCTV) – The price tag for an expanded Midway community center is expected to be a little higher after workers discovered an issue with the flooring.
The Eugene Lamb Community Center is being renovated with a federal grant and city money. The total project is expected to cost more than $2 million.
Crews found uneven flooring during demolition, so now the city will spend around $23,000 to eliminate the final hurdle.

Antonio Jefferson, senior consultant to the Midway City Manager, said investing in the building is of great value to the community.
“Part of this was preserving the historic value that this building serves to this community. It allowed us to save something that old, build something new, merge them together to make something complete,” Jefferson said.
Officials say the project is expected to be finished in December.
