Kodak Black has been arrested in Florida on a drug trafficking charge.
The 28-year-old rapper was booked into the Orange County Corrections Department on Wednesday (May 6) and hit with a first-degree felony charge for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine (MDMA), arrest records show. Complex has reached out to his attorney, Bradford Cohen, for comment, as well as to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Cohen told TMZ that Kodak’s arrest on Wednesday is connected to a November 2025 case involving the search of a vehicle with one passenger who wasn’t the rapper. Police reportedly found a bag containing a bottle of prescription cough syrup, which authorities alleged had Kodak’s fingerprint on it. Cohen said the trafficking charge has a “weak legal basis,” and “should have never been filed.”
That report, as well as separate reporting from Loren LoRosa, indicate that Kodak voluntarily turned himself into police.
His arrest comes less than a month after the mother of one of his children, Jammiah Broomfield, was arrested on charges including trafficking methamphetamine, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended license.
