  • May 12, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An early morning apartment fire left several residents displaced, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.

Crews responded to an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Jackson Bluff Road at around 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a second-floor apartment. Crews were able to contain the fire before it extended to nearby units, TFD said.

The cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking, according to TFD.

No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.
