JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Jacksonville Police Department(JPD) is partnering with The Governors Highway Safety Program to offer motorcyclists Rider Skills Days with assessments on current skills and professional advice to help increase motorcycle safety.
The JPD has four BikeSafe Assessors, all of whom are certified instructors. Sergeant James Smallwood serves as the agency’s Site Coordinator.
The next class JPD will be hosting will be Friday, May 22nd beginning at 8:45a.m. The class will take place at the Department of Public Safety located on 200 Marine Blvd., in Jacksonville. Deadline to register will be on Wednesday May 20th. All registrants must have a legal Motorcycle endorsement or Learner’s Permit and the motorcycle must be insured.
