TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee’s chapter of 100 Women Who Care has reached more than $600,000 in funding for local nonprofits.
The group started in November 2020 and now has 260 members.
They meet four times a year, and at each meeting they vote on a local nonprofit to donate to that quarter.
Over the past six years, the organization has donated to dozens of nonprofits.
Founder Virginia Glass said it has been a true joy to see the organization grow and directly impact the community.
“So, it’s just been a ripple effect that has reached throughout the county pretty much,” Glass said. “When a lot of people do their part, then great things can happen. It’s just very fulfilling.”
Tallahassee also has a local chapter for 100 Men Who Care. It follows the same structure as the women’s organization.
The men’s chapter has around 60 members and is looking for more.
