FORT PIERCE – St. Lucie County Fire District crews put out a fire that consumed a home in the 4100 block of South 25th Street in Fort Pierce on May 12, according to a fire district Facebook posting.
Before 5 a.m., May 12, crews responded to the scene and found the home heavily involved in a fire.
With no fire hydrants in the area, crews established a water shuttle tanker operation to supply suppression efforts, according to the Facebook posting.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire isolated to the original structure and protect surrounding structures from extension.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported, according to the Facebook posting.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
