The ACC announced Tuesday when SMU’s 2026 football season will begin.
The Mustangs will kick off their season at 6:30 p.m. CT on the road at Florida State on Monday, Sept. 7, for a nationally televised game on ESPN on Labor Day.
This will be the second meeting in the all-time series between the two teams. SMU won the first contest 42-16 in 2024 at Ford Stadium during the program’s first season in the ACC.
SMU begins its schedule with two ACC road games in the first three weeks — traveling to Tallahassee before facing Louisville on the road on Sept. 19.
