Buttermilk Eatery will open its third site at 2601 Central Ave. in the Grand Central District this summer. The space was left vacant by Urban Brew & BBQ. Inside, there’s 1,400 square feet. Outside, a covered patio sprawls across 3,000 square feet.

Robot food runners will deliver meals to guests. Traditional table service is still available. Customers can order from phones by scanning a QR code at each table.

“There’s no lack of service,” one of the owners said to St. Pete Rising. “The restaurant is fully staffed, but the robot assistance gives our employees more time to focus on customers and provide better attention.”

The owners spoke with excitement. “We’re excited to keep growing locally and bring Buttermilk to the Grand Central District,” one owner said. “This neighborhood has a lot of energy, and we think the concept fits really well here.”

The business opened its first site in North St. Pete during early 2023. A second spot appeared in Pinellas Park in 2024. Both are owned locally.

Breakfast and brunch comfort food dominate the menu. Egg platters, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, and omelets fill the pages. Signature items include thick-cut French toast, house-made buttermilk pancakes, Belgian waffles, eggs Benedict, and skillets you can customize.

Guests love the Buttermilk Battered Chicken & Waffle and the Dubai Chocolate Dream Cakes. The Down South Benedict stacks chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuits, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. The Country Skillet piles country fried steak, peppers, onions, cheddar-jack cheese, sausage gravy, potatoes, and your choice of eggs together on one plate.

Omelet choices include the Mediterranean with spinach, olives, tomatoes, onions, and feta cheese; the Market Veggie with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and cheddar jack; and the Butcher Block with hardwood smoked bacon, diced ham, pork sausage, and cheddar jack cheese.

Lunch brings the Brunch Burger topped with a fried egg, the Avocado Bacon Burger, the TBLT with oven-roasted turkey and bacon on sourdough, fried chicken sandwiches, and a Philly cheesesteak. The Grand Central site will add a light dinner menu later.

Drinks will pour Lavazza espresso drinks, fresh juices, and brunch cocktails, like bottomless mimosas.
