A Homestead woman who works as a licensed pharmacist at a CVS in Islamorada was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of forging doctors’ prescriptions for herself and her family, deputies said.
Chandra Teerie, 59, was charged with over 80 felonies, including fraud, possession, sell, or deliver contraband/drugs, forgery, and grand theft.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, pharmacy officials at the CVS called deputies in September to report that Teerie created fraudulent prescriptions several times, which cost the CVS over $8,500.
Teerie’s arraignment is set for Nov. 12.
