TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County elementary school just got a colorful new addition.
DeSoto Trail Elementary debuted its brand new 8-foot by 12-foot mural in partnership with public art champion KCCI on Wednesday.
Two Chiles High School seniors designed the painting and unveiled it just in time for the school’s annual senior walk, where graduating seniors return to the halls where their learning journeys began.
“It was a really fun experience to work on this project. I’ve never done something to this scale, and it was great to collaborate with the school.”
“It’s so rewarding to see how much joy it brings everyone and just how great a piece of artwork can bring to people’s lives.”
The mural is visible from the nearby roadway, where last year a colorfully painted crosswalk was removed due to orders from the state.
