The U.S. Marshals captured a Pennsylvania sex offender who was wanted on child pornography charges and living in the woods in Florida, officials said.

Joseph Christopher Mazzoni, 46, had been wanted since March 9, 2026, by Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office after being charged with dissemination of child sex acts and sexual abuse material.

Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673.

Prior to those charges, Mazzoni had been convicted of possession of child pornography in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He was categorized as a Tier 3 sex offender as a result and has a lifetime requirement to register residency under Megan’s Law.

The U.S. Marshals believed Mazzoni was living in Florida and receiving help to avoid law enforcement. They then executed a search warrant on Wednesday, May 13, along the 2300 block of Crawford Avenue in Naples, Florida. After searching through the property, the U.S. Marshals found Mazzoni living in the woods behind the home, investigators said.
