Cape Coral is opening Tropicana Park, a new waterfront park at 4101 Tropicana Parkway W. designed for recreation and nonmotorized boating. The park features a beach area, water access points, launch docks, a boat tie-up dock and an accessible kayak launch. Additional amenities include an observation pavilion, picnic pavilions available for rental, a playground, walking paths with fitness stations, parking and restrooms. The city will mark the opening with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. May 29.
