TAMPA, FLA. — An overnight fatal crash caused all southbound lanes of I-75 to shut down near Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, but they have since reopened on May 14, officials said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened at about 11 p.m. on May 13, when a Nissan Sentra, driven by a 57-year-old Sun City Center woman, was heading southbound on I-75.
FHP said a Lincoln MKZ, driven by a 20-year-old Lakeland woman, was also headed southbound on I-75. And near the milepost 267, a 35-year-old Tampa man tried to get across I-75, where he was hit by the vehicles back to back.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
