TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County deputy shot an armed suspect while attempting to serve an eviction notice on West Tennessee Street Thursday afternoon, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident transpired just after 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of West Tennessee Street, an LCSO spokesperson confirmed to WCTV.
In a social media post around 4:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office said LCSO deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice in that area.
However, a man involved in the incident was uncooperative and “was armed with a firearm,” per LCSO.
A deputy then deployed his taser due to the male suspect not complying with commands, the sheriff’s office spokesperson told WCTV.

Shortly after, the suspect attempted to draw his firearm just before the deputy drew his and fired an unknown number of shots, according to the LCSO spokesperson.
“The deputy responded, shooting and injuring the suspect,” the sheriff’s office said.
As a result, the male suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where the spokesperson said he is awake and alert.
