It’s time to dance.
Florida A&M softball (32-20) faces No. 6 seed Florida Gators (48-10) in the NCAA Tournament’s Gainesville Regional on Friday, May 15.
The tournament foes will throw the first pitch at 11 a.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on the University of Florida campus.

The remainder of the Gainesville Regional features Georgia Tech (30-27) and Texas State (38-20).

FAMU fans can watch the Rattlers play their first national tournament game since 2017, which was coincidentally also versus the Gators, on the Southeastern Conference Network via the ESPN app.
The Rattlers are representing the Southwestern Athletic Conference after earning the automatic tournament qualifier by beating Southern for the trophy on May 8. It was FAMU’s first SWAC softball title.
FAMU is led by SWAC Player of the Year and pitcher, shortstop, and utility player Amari Brown, All-SWAC ace pitcher Zoryana Hughes, and SWAC Tournament Most Valuable Player Samantha Smith, a pitcher and utility player.

They will be up against Florida’s All-SEC first teamers, catcher and first baseman Jocelyn Erickson, pitcher Keagan Rothrock, outfielder Taylor Shumaker, and outfielder Townsen Thomas.

The double-elimination NCAA Gainesville Regional continues with the second round on Saturday, May 16, and the championship game on Sunday, May 17. The regional winner heads to the Super Regional for a chance to earn a spot in Oklahoma City’s Women’s College World Series.
