TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Peppermint Lounge, a 1960s-inspired vinyl bar, is set to open in Tampa later this year.
The new bar in Tampa is inspired by the original Peppermint Lounge in New York City, which featured performers like The Ronettes, The Beach Boys and Jimi Hendrix.
The “unique bar experience” will “blend vinyl sets and live music with progressive drinks and unpretentious service,” a news release said.

“Peppermint Lounge is my love letter to Tampa,” said Ty Rodriguez, founder of the concept. “I wanted a spot with soul, where music, photography, hospitality, and personality come together in a way that’s intentional and honest.”
During the day, the venue will open its doors in partnership with the Recycled Tunes program to host after-school music lessons for kids inside the lounge before opening hours.
“Music shaped a lot of my life, and it’s shaped this concept,” Rodriguez said. “Being able to open our doors during the day and give kids access to instruments and lessons is just as important as what happens at night. If we can help one kid discover that spark inside them, then we’ve done something that lasts far beyond us.”
The new Peppermint Lounge is set to open this fall on North Franklin Street. It will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
More details will be announced in the coming months.
