Unoccupied SUV plunges into Port St. Lucie canal during jet ski launch

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A jet ski launch went wrong Friday when a man’s unoccupied SUV plunged into a canal in Port St. Lucie.

Officers with the Port St. Lucie Police say the owner was attempting to unload a jet ski at the C24 boat ramps when the vehicle suddenly slipped into the water, leaving the car partially submerged in the canal.

Thankfully, police say no injuries were reported.

Photos from the scene show the vehicle underwater as crews worked to pull it from the canal.

Authorities credited Kauff’s Towing and Officer Boyd with the marine unit for quickly responding and safely removing the vehicle from the water.
