FORT MYERS, FL. (WINK) — A funnel cloud was spotted near downtown Fort Myers Sunday afternoon as storms moved through Southwest Florida.

WINK News viewer Kia F. captured video of the funnel cloud as it developed in the area.

According to the National Weather Service, a possible landspout/tornado was reported in Cape Coral via social media video, which showed debris circling through the air.

The Layne family in Cape Coral shared a video of items being thrown around in their backyard due to the storm’s strong winds.

Benjamin Abes with Lee County Emergency Management said the tree damage was spotted along Summerlin Road between College Parkway and Boy Scout Drive.

Abes said there has been no structural damage reported at this time.
