PORT ST. LUCIE – An audio recording of a 911 call released on May 15 by Port St. Lucie Police describes the scene of an apparent murder-suicide which happened at a Port St. Lucie home on May 11.

An 18-year-old, in a panicky voice, described the scene to 911 dispatchers at the home in the 2700 block of SW Ensenada Terrace, Port St. Lucie.

Police responded to the home at about 5:30 p.m., May 11 and found Jimsely Estime, 31, and Ketsy Alexis, 30, in the lying on the floor in the kitchen, with a firearm nearby, according to police reports. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two children, ages 1 and 2, were inside the home at the time of the incident, according to police reports. A third child, age 6, returned home from school, discovered the younger children upset inside the residence, and shortly thereafter found both parents in the kitchen area. The child then contacted a family member for assistance, who subsequently called 911, according to police reports.

“They’ve been going through a divorce,” the caller told a 911 dispatcher. “The little one, the one that goes to school …. she tells us she saw her dad laying on the floor, and she saw blood.” All the children who were inside the house at the time of the discovery were now out of the house, the caller told the dispatcher.

The couple, who were married for about six years, had a history of domestic violence with Ketsy Alexis discussing the matter with police last September, according to a PSL incident report.

She told police then that, when she told Jimsley Estime that she planned to file for divorce because of his alleged infidelity, he said that he would kill her if she did so and that he was not afraid of prison, according to the incident report. Ketsy Alexis told police that there was a history of domestic violence but the incidents were not reported to police, according to the incident report.

Estime was arrested on Jan. 26 for making written threats to kill against Alexis but Alexis asked that on Feb. 5 that the charges be dropped and that she did not plan to pursue prosecution.
