PORT ST. LUCIE – No injuries were reported from a house fire near the corner of Southwest Irving Street and Southwest Ray Avenue in Port St. Lucie on May 15, according to a Facebook posting by St. Lucie County Fire-District.
At about 7:15 a.m., May 15, crews responded to that address and found heavy smoke showing from the front of the home with fire visible from the rear corner of the structure. Initial reports advised that multiple rooms were on fire.
Firefighters performed a fire attack and search while surrounding residences were evacuated as a precaution, according to the Facebook posting.
The American Red Cross was requested to assist the homeowners.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
