Nine people were rescued from a disabled boat by a Carnival cruise ship off of Florida’s coast on Saturday, NBC affiliate WESH reported.
It happened off the coast of Sebastian Inlet, after the crew of the Carnival Mardi Gras noticed a vessel flying a distress flag, a company spokesperson told WESH.
The cruise ship notified the U.S. Coast Guard and rescued everyone on board the disabled boat, the spokesperson said.
All nine people were safely brought aboard the Mardi Gras, which is based out of Port Canaveral.
WESH reported that they remained in the ship’s care until they arrived in Nassau, Bahamas, on Sunday, where they disembarked the vessel with Bahamian authorities.
