JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating after a 6-year-old boy was killed Sunday night.
On Sunday, May 17, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 4000 block of South Highway 161.
While en route to the scene, officers received updated information indicating that one individual had sustained a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 6-year-old juvenile, in a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately rendered aid, and the victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The two adults in the vehicle with the juvenile were not injured.
