  • May 18, 2026

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A 14-year-old boy is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Gadsden County, Saturday evening.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said the crash happened along US-27 and John Yawn Place.

According to FHP, the vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Arkansas woman, drove off the road onto the shoulder where it struck the teen who was riding a bicycle.

Officials said the young boy was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

After the crash, the vehicle left the scene. Leon County deputies later found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. FHP troopers responded to the scene and arrested the driver for suspected DUI and other charges.

The crash is under investigation, and we will update this story as more information is released.
