Grab your candy and costumes, Miami — if you’re looking for the best place to celebrate Halloween, you’re in luck.
WalletHub recently set out on a hunt to determine the best places for Americans to celebrate the spooky holiday “without frightening their bank accounts,” and three Florida cities made the cut! The personal finance site look at 100 of the largest U.S. cities across 20 key metrics, factoring in everything from candy stores to party supplies and the share of potential trick-or-treat stops.
Which Florida cities are the best places to celebrate Halloween?
Miami came in at #6 overall in the ranking, receiving a score of 57.18 — just 0.81 less than Las Vegas, which landed in #5. Not only did Miami receive a high walkability score at #6, meaning kids can roam safely from house to house while collecting their fair share of treats, but also had a high “Halloween fun rank.” However, it did finish at #33 among the friendliest places to trick-or-treat.
The other Florida city ranking highly on the list — at #11 with a score of 53.11 — was Orlando. Home to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the city ranked #2 in the country for Halloween fun and #23 for weather, but #87 for trick-or-treater friendliness.

Interestingly, Hialeah found itself as the #19 best city for the season, with a 51.4 score. We can’t exactly say we’re surprised, with annual events keeping the spook-tacular energy going like Milander Park’s Trunk-or-Treat and Hialeah Cares: Community Halloween Party and Haunted House at the MDC Hialeah Campus.
Not only did it score highly for its number of potential trick-or-treat stops at #9, the city is quite friendly for trick-or-treaters, coming in at #9! As for weather, it ranked #42 and all the way at #82 for its fun factor.
