OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (CBS12) — Graduation looked a little different this year for a South Florida kindergartner receiving care at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital.

But that didn’t stop him from putting on a bright blue cap and gown, slipping on a pair of “2026” glasses, and walking across a stage hospital staff created just for him.

Liam, a kindergarten student at Seminole Elementary School, has spent several weeks at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. When he learned he would have to miss his kindergarten graduation because he was in the hospital, hospital staff brought the celebration directly to him.

In one video, given to CBS12 News on Monday, Liam is seen walking through the hospital hallways carrying celebratory balloons as cheering staff members clap for him. Another video shows Liam receiving a diploma for completing kindergarten.
