May 18, 2026 – The City of St. Petersburg is now accepting applications from developers for its Affordable Rental Housing Program, which is a part of the Sunrise St. Pete initiative. The effort, funded by Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery dollars, was designed to meet post-disaster housing demands. According to a prepared statement, the program encourages “the construction, substantial rehabilitation or conversion of affordable rental housing units” for individuals who earn 80% of the Area Median Income or less.
