NOW, THIS IS DEEMED ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS ROADS IN LEE COUNTY ARE SAFE FOR YOURSELVES. JUST HOW NARROW THE ROAD IS. THIS ROAD WILL BE LOOKING DIFFERENT SOON AS COUNTY LEADERS LOOK TO EXPAND IT TODAY, THEY’RE EXPECTED TO APPROVE A CONTRACT FOR MORE THAN 3 MILLION DOLLARS FOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS. Safety upgrades planned for Burnt Store Road in Cape Coral

Lee County leaders are expected to approve a contract for $3,029,889.01 on safety improvements along Burnt Store Road in Cape Coral, with construction potentially beginning next month. The upgrades will focus on a five-mile stretch of Burnt Store Road, from Delilah Drive north to Vincent Avenue. Planned improvements include four-foot-wide paved shoulders, new right and left turn lanes at Caloosa Parkway, rumble stripes, guardrails, road signs, and fresh pavement markings. Lee County leaders are also expected to approve the purchase of a small piece of property along Burnt Store Road North, just south of Northwest 40th Lane on the west side of the road. The county plans to pay approximately $41,000, plus closing costs, for the land to make room for a future road expansion.
