Allegiant has announced a major network expansion, introducing eight new nonstop routes across Florida scheduled to take off in fall 2026. The budget carrier’s latest expansion focuses heavily on connecting small-to-mid-size American cities with some of Florida’s most popular vacation hotspots.

The announcement comes at a critical time for regional transit, closely following the recent shutdown of Spirit Airlines, which left many vacationers and Southwest Florida travelers scrambling for alternative options. Allegiant appears ready to step into the vacuum, positioning itself as the go-to ultra-low-cost carrier for underserved markets.

“We’re excited to announce these new routes and believe it is an important time for Allegiant to increase travel options in these markets,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer. Wells emphasized that the airline’s core mission remains offering service where it is needed most. “When we grow our route map, we ensure affordable options remain available for travelers across America.”

New Route Breakdown and Fares

The expansion heavily targets four major Florida leisure hubs: Fort Lauderdale, St. Pete-Clearwater, Orlando-Sanford, and Punta Gorda. One-way introductory fares across the new routes are competitively priced between $59 and $79.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

Fort Lauderdale is the biggest winner in the expansion, securing four new direct connections three of which were flown by the recently liquidated Spirit Airlines:

Boston, MA (BOS): Launching Oct. 1, 2026

Omaha, NE (OMA): Launching Oct. 2, 2026

Pittsburgh, PA (PIT): Launching Oct. 2, 2026

Kansas City, MO (MCI): Launching Oct. 2, 2026

Fares: Starting between $59 and $79 one-way.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)

The Tampa Bay area will gain two new midwestern and northeast connections:

Philadelphia, PA (PHL): Launching Oct. 2, 2026 (Fares from $59)

Columbia, MO (COU): Launching Nov. 19, 2026 (Fares from $69)

Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB) & Punta Gorda Airport (PGD)

Central and Southwest Florida will also see targeted service increases:

Orlando-Sanford to Trenton, NJ (TTN): Launching Oct. 2, 2026 (Fares from $59)

Punta Gorda to La Crosse, WI (LSE): Launching Oct. 1, 2026 (Fares from $79)
