TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The first witnesses are expected to take the stand Tuesday in the trial of Tamylon Williams and Joseph Walker.
Williams and Walker are accused in a deadly shootout outside Half Time Liquors back in October 2022. Eight people were shot and one man, Demario Murray, was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Police say he was an innocent bystander.
The terrifying scene was caught on surveillance camera as dozens of people gathered in the liquor store parking lot ducked for cover and ran for their lives.
An FDLE crime lab analyst testified previously that they found at least 85 shell casings at the scene.
Williams and Walker are facing charges of second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and improper exhibition of a firearm.
Opening statements and testimony are set to begin Tuesday morning and the trial could last through Friday, court records show.
Williams and Walker are two of the four men arrested in connection to the shooting.
Court records show William Thomas was sentenced just last week to 4 years in prison for possession of a machine gun and De’Arius Cannon is serving a 13 year prison sentence for attempted manslaughter and improper exhibition of a firearm.
