ORLANDO, Fla. – A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash on John Young Parkway, and Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help finding the driver.
What we know:
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of John Young Parkway and West Oak Ridge Road.

According to an FHP report, the pedestrian was hit as he crossed the road in the direct path of a sedan that was traveling north on John Young Parkway. The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said they received a description of the possible suspect vehicle from a witness at the scene. The vehicle is described as a dark gray Kia K5.
The vehicle should have significant damage to the front bumper and the undercarriage, according to investigators.
Investigators said that three other vehicles might have been involved in the crash. They are also looking for a white Honda Civic, a dark gray Kia Soul and a tractor-trailer.
The Honda Civic is considered a “vehicle of interest” in the case, according to FHP.

John Young Parkway temporarily shut down
The northbound lanes of John Young Parkway were temporarily shut down for hours because of the crash.
The roadway has since reopened.
