Cape Coral police arrest man accused of forcing his way into a home, threatening occupants with gun

A man was arrested in Cape Coral on Tuesday after being accused of breaking into a house and threatening the occupants, including pointing a gun at one victim.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance at a home at around 8:13 p.m. Dispatchers told officers that they heard yelling in the background of the call, including threats of violence.Upon arriving at the home, officers made contact with the suspect, identified as Isaias Jamon Garcia, 22, who partially opened the door and stated that the officers could leave and that everything was okay, CCPD said.Officers then saw a victim inside the residence signaling for help, and immediately intervened, detaining Garcia, who attempted to shut the door on them, CCPD said.A pat-down search of Garcia resulted in the recovery of a 9mm handgun in his waistband, CCPD said. Further investigation of the incident revealed that Garcia was involved in a dispute inside the home with two occupants.According to statements, Garcia forced his way into the home after being denied entry, pushing the door open, which hit one of the victims, CCPD said.
