PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Port St. Lucie police are investigating a deadly vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Friday morning.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), the crash involved a 49-year-old man riding a scooter. Officials said that he was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

In response to the investigation, the intersection of SE Crosstown Parkway and SE Sandia Drive has been closed to traffic.

PSLPD is advising motorists to steer clear of the area and seek alternate routes.
