Fort Lauderdale, FL – Fort Lauderdale police are preparing to release new information after investigators identified human remains connected to a woman who disappeared more than 10 years ago in Broward County.
Authorities said the remains are believed to belong to Yesenia Suarez, a Lauderhill woman who vanished in October 2014 after leaving work in Fort Lauderdale.
Suarez was 30-years-old at the time she was reported missing by family members after they lost contact with her and she failed to return home.
According to investigators, forensic testing recently helped identify the remains during the ongoing investigation into her disappearance.
Police have not publicly disclosed where the remains were found or when they were recovered as detectives continue examining evidence tied to the case.
Fort Lauderdale police announced plans to hold a news conference to provide additional details regarding the investigation and identification process.
