A Jacksonville man was arrested early Thursday after police said he drove into a barrier outside a bank.
Police were called about 1:32 a.m. Thursday for a report of a crash at Heartland Bank and Trust Co., 1211 W. Morton Ave.
The driver said he was going through a parking lot when he lost control of his car and struck an entrance sign, went through a guardrail fence and was stopped by a concrete barrier, according to a police report.
The car sustained significant damage to both front quarter panels and the front bumper and had to be towed from the scene, police said.
Driver Aston David, 22, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, according to a police report.
