YORK BY 9.11, FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ATTACKS. NEW VIDEO HERE AT 7 OF FLOODING IN CAPE CORAL. GULF COAST NEWS REPORTER GINA TOMLINSON JUST SENT US THIS VIDEO FROM A NEIGHBORHOOD THAT SHOWS SERIOUS FLOODING IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD IN SOUTHEAST CAPE. WE DO HAVE A CREW ON THE WAY TO THAT SCENE RIGHT NOW. EXPECT UPDATES TONIGHT ON GULF COAST NEWS AT 11. BUT FOR NOW, BECAUSE METEOROLOGIST ROB DUNS STILL TRACKING SOME RAIN OUT THERE. JUST CAN’T HIT THE SWEET SPOT. WE EITHER GET NO RAIN AT ALL OR WAY TOO MUCH. JUST HAVE TO FIND A HAPPY MEDIUM HERE AT SOME POINT. BUT TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, THE BIG WEATHER STORIES OUT THAT THE SEVERE STORMS THAT ARE OVERLY COUNTY HAVE TRANSITION INTO JUST REGULAR THUNDERSTORMS, BUT PRIMARILY OVER CHARLOTTE COUNTY. AS YOU CAN SEE HERE, THAT’S WHERE KICK THINGS OFF TONIGHT ALONG SOUTH MCCALL ROAD AND THROUGH. >> ELIGIBLE DEAN IN PORT CHARLOTTE, SOME DECENT AND BENEFICIAL RAIN FALLING, BUT MUCH MORE MANAGEABLE RATES AS COMPARED TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING ACROSS CAPE CORAL DURING THE 6 O’CLOCK HOUR. YOU’LL ALSO NOTICE THAT THE LIGHTNING COUNTER IS NOT NEARLY AS AGGRESSIVE NOW AS COMPARED TO THE PAST HOUR, ONLY 18 STRIKES IN THE PAST 15 MINUTES. AND AS THE RAIN CONTINUES TO FALL IN NEIGHBORHOODS CLOSER TO NORTH PORT AND TOWARD TARPON POINT, YOU CAN SEE WITHIN HOURS LAPSE OF THE RADAR. THAT IS THESE THUNDERSTORMS POP UP HERE ALONG THE SEA BREEZE BOUNDARY. THEY’RE ALSO MOVING A LOT FASTER THAN WHAT CAUSED ALL THE FLOODING IN CAPE CORAL. SO THAT REDUCES THE RISK OF ANY KIND OF SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY AS AGAIN WHEN THE STORMS HAVE A BETT
