Miami, FL – Social media influencer Yabdiel Annibal Cotto Torres, known online as “Baby Alien,” avoided jail time after resolving criminal charges tied to a livestream involving the alleged shooting of an alligator in the Florida Everglades.
According to court records, Cotto Torres entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor charge of unlawfully discharging a firearm in public.
The case stemmed from a March 26th livestream that allegedly showed several individuals firing weapons near what wildlife investigators described as an apparently dead alligator during an airboat trip in the Everglades.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials launched an investigation after clips from the livestream spread across social media and generated public attention online.
State wildlife laws prohibit shooting, harming or killing alligators without authorization from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
As part of the plea agreement, Cotto Torres was sentenced to six months of probation and ordered to complete 20 hours of community service.
Court records also require him to complete firearm safety training through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Officials said he could face additional penalties if he violates probation conditions.
The investigation also involved Braden Peters, known online as “Clavicular,” and Andrew Morales, who uses the online name “Cuban Tarzan.”
Both previously received probation sentences after entering pleas connected to the same incident.
Attorneys representing Peters argued during earlier court proceedings that no living animal was harmed and stated participants were allegedly following instructions from a licensed airboat operator during the outing.
The case gained widespread attention online due to the influencers’ social media presence and livestream activity connected to internet personality culture.
