ORLANDO, Fla. — You and your kiddos can interact with mermaids this Memorial Day weekend.

The “Meet a Mermaid” experience is happening now at Sea Life Aquarium at the base of the Orlando Eye at ICON Park.

Guests can watch as mermaids dive with sharks and tropical fish while showing some love to the guests. Families can go hand to hand with the mermaids, even within the aquarium’s 360 degree ocean tunnel.

Each performer is a certified diver.

“They’re typically in the water anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes,” said Noel Brooks, marketing executive with Merlin Entertainments. “Oftentimes, they’re holding their breath. They have a regulator that they’ll occasionally use to get that breath of fresh air, but they’re doing it kinda all on their own, while acting as well.”

There are even meet-n-greets with the mermaids on dry land. Interactive education stations are also peppered throughout the aquarium.

Families can learn about marine animals and discover how some, like manatees, have inspired mermaid legends.

The Meet a Mermaid Experience at ICON Park runs through this Monday, May 25, 2026.
