TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Two people are facing jury tampering charges after allegedly trying to bribe a juror to sway the results in a capital city drug trafficking trial.
Brad Gathers, 40, and Tanaya Harris, 24, both of Tallahassee, are facing conspiracy to tamper with a court official charges. Gathers is also charged with tampering with a court official, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Friday.
The November trial was for Delmetrice Rogers and Lasonya Savage, who were convicted and sentenced for trafficking cocaine across the state.

Investigators determined that Gathers is a friend of Rogers and Savage, according to a press release from the attorney general’s office. Court documents show Gathers learned Harris, his then-girlfriend, knew one of the jurors.
Harris and Gathers allegedly contacted the juror, offering $10,000 to sway the results of the trial.
According to that press release, the juror declined the bribe and reported it to authorities. The juror was removed from the jury and replaced with an alternate.
If convicted, Gathers faces a maximum of life in prison and Harris faces up to 15 years.
