JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Jacksonville police participated in the local leg of the law enforcement torch run this morning.
Runners known as the Guardians of the Flame teamed up with Special Olympics athletes to champion acceptance and inclusion.
The group started at the police department and ran to 300 Freedom Way, lasting over seven miles.
The rain held off at the beginning of the run, but fell toward the end as they reached their destination to hand the torch to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
