ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle at a St. Petersburg intersection.
Emergency crews and police officers rushed to the scene at 9th Avenue North and 25th Street North at 9:49 a.m. following reports of a pedestrian-involved crash. First responders transported the teenager to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officials.

St. Petersburg Police Department investigators closed down the intersection to collect evidence and piece together what happened. Authorities released a statement during the closure, noting, “The intersection is shut down pending the investigation. We ask that drivers seek an alternate route.”
The investigation remains active, and police have not yet released information regarding what caused the crash or if any charges will be filed.
