Brace yourselves, SoHo faithful, because Ciccio Restaurant Group just announced that Daily Eats, the beloved diner that’s been feeding the masses at 901 S. Howard Ave. for over 20 years, is closing its doors on June 15.
Before you start writing your eulogy, though, here’s the twist: it’s not really dying. It’s just going through a glow-up. The space will reopen a few weeks after closing as Meeting House, a neighborhood restaurant built around lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, with the tagline “meet, eat… and repeat.” Which, sure, sounds like something your overly enthusiastic coworker would say before a team lunch, but we’ll allow it.
Here’s what actually matters: the team is staying together, and many guest favorites will remain on the menu. So your steak and eggs bowl isn’t gone forever. It’s just getting a rebrand. Think of it like when your favorite band changes their name but keeps playing all the same songs. A little confusing, mostly fine.

CRG has been a SoHo institution since the ’90s, and it currently operates 30 different restaurants across the region, including Fresh Kitchen, Green Lemon, Jay Luigi, Sweet Soul, Taco Dirty, and Water + Flour. These are people who know how to run a restaurant. They also know when something needs a refresh, and apparently Daily Eats hit that point.
The building itself has a long memory. Before Daily Eats moved in, the space was home to The Old Meeting House, a Tampa neighborhood hangout that ran for over 50 years. So the incoming Meeting House name is basically a full-circle moment. CRG didn’t just pick a name, they honored history. Respect.
Look, change is weird, especially when it involves a place where you’ve eaten eggs at 11 a.m. on a Saturday while questioning your decisions. But this one seems okay. Same crew, same soul, new sign.
