Teachers within the Jacksonville Independent School District who earned Teacher Incentive Allotment designations were honored Monday. They were treated to a reception at the administration building and recognized during the school board meeting.
The JIDS teachers earned one of three levels of TIA distinction: Recognized, Exemplary and Master. Each designation carries with it a guaranteed annual allotment from $5,000 to$30,000.
Teachers earning distinctions this year are:

– Amayah Hawkins, Nichols Intermediate, Recognized
– Maricela Hinojosa Diaz, West Side Elementary, Exemplary
– Carey Johnson, East Side Elementary, Exemplary
– Lainie Lasseter, Fred Douglass Elementary, Exemplary
– Charles Loe, Jacksonville High School, Master
– Margarita Luna, East Side Elementary, Exemplary
– Kathleen Lyssy, Jacksonville High School, Recognized
– Jacob Mangum, Jacksonville High School, Exemplary
– Karla Munoz, East Side Elementary, Master
– Andrea Russell, Jacksonville High School, Exemplary

According to presenter Amber Bradshaw-Wooten, associate superintendent of personnel and programs, this is the fourth cohort of teachers earning TIA distinctions. With the addition of these teachers, there are now 50 TIA-designated teachers district-wide.
