A shooting investigation is underway Friday evening in St. Petersburg.
As of 7:45 p.m., law enforcement was on scene in the area of 15th Avenue South and 42nd Street.
A spokesperson for St. Pete police confirmed that a young man was shot and taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
