A Jacksonville man is facing a felony child abuse charge after authorities say a 15-year-old suffered a fractured jaw, according to online court records.
Dane Martin, 31, was arrested May 20 and charged with felony intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.
Court documents list the alleged offense date range as Nov. 16, 2025, through May 19, 2026.
According to arrest warrants, investigators allege Martin intentionally inflicted serious bodily injury on a 15-year-old by causing a fractured upper jaw.
Warrants state Martin was providing care for the child as the child’s stepfather at the time of the alleged incident.
Martin is currently being held in the Onslow County Jail without bond.
Court records show his first court appearance is scheduled for May 21 in Onslow County.
