TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three Florida cities made the list of the best locations in 2025 for Halloween festivities, according to a WalletHub study.

WalletHub listed Miami, Orlando and Hialeah as three of the top 20 cities for 2025’s spooky season, using 20 metrics to determine the best places to spend Halloween without spending a frightening amount of money.

“This year, the average US household is expected to spend $114.45 on Halloween expenses, from decorations to treats to costumes,” WalletHub said. “Collectively, that’s about $13.1 billion between the 73% of households that celebrate.”

WalletHub said it compared the 100 largest US cities based on key metrics, ranging from candy stores per capita to potential trick-or-treat stops.

The three primary determining metrics were trick-or-treater friendliness, Halloween fun and weather conditions, WalletHub said.

The WalletHub study graded each metric on a 100-point scale, with the highest number of points determining the most favorable conditions for a Halloween celebration.

Below are WalletHub’s rankings and total scores for each of the top three Florida cities, with 100 points being the highest possible score:

6. Miami – 57.18 points

11. Orlando – 53.11 points

19. Hialeah – 51. 40 points

Miami ranked sixth in the Halloween fun category determined by 11 key metrics, ranging from online searches for Halloween parties to pumpkin patches per capita, WalletHub said.

According to WalletHub’s complete list of the largest US cities, Tampa was number 28, with a total score of 50.09.
