Many people spoke at the event, including the chairman of the veterans committee, Everett Yarbrough, who voiced the importance of honoring those who served the country.
“A lot of these veterans gave their lives for our freedom, and we want to honor that. Many others served the Army, Navy, and Air Force during the war, and we respect that, and we’re happy to remember them,” Yarbrough said.
Officials say that during the 45 years of this tradition, more than 200 veterans have lived at Westminster Oaks.
